There is a reason she asked this ! Hospitals tell you before you have surgery to make sure your not wearing a tampon for several reasons. One of them being white doves reply below.

If you were still in the home hospital they would have you wear pads.  At home lampoons are fine.  When super absorbent lampons were first sold some women got toxic shock syndrome and died.

They left lampons in too long and bacteria built up resulting in sickness and death.

Hospitals don't take the risk and use pads instead.  Be very careful about changing lampons often especially while your resistance to disease and germs is somewhat compromised following surgery.

Pads are always the safest method as nothing is inserted into a dark damp place where bacteria can thrive.

Exactly!!!! :) I know they pose a risk anyways and since my stomach is still healing I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. :) thank you whitedove! :)

I used them after sx. And the grumpy people here, I just imagine they are probably constipated and lashing out at newbs. I think the only dumb question is an unasked one. Welcome here!
