I am not talking about bbq sauce

I think a lot of people use 'grill' and 'bbq' interchangeably, too, or at least they do here.

if it is roasted or grilled pork, separated with spices then yes

if slathered in bbq sauce, no. I'm from GA when we say BBQ we mean all the sauce etc.

Try it, but go slow. You are less than two months out, and if you get a piece in there that's tough, it could be painful. I know at 8 weeks I was sticking with something soft like deli ham, and never would have attempted pulled pork.

Pulled pork with seasoning rather than BBQ works really well, especially if you do it in a slow cooker so it's really juicy.

I don't get BBQ out at restaurants but DH has been making it at home - ribs and along those lines. We just had some he made in the instant pot this last weekend with a dry rub that was super delicious. I also take BBQ sauce in a bowl and use it sparingly - like maybe a teaspoon so that I can control the calories/sugar I'm getting and know I'm not getting the insane amount. That way I can get a little bit of extra flavor. It works for me.

LOL - there are a lot of people here that aren't Southern enough to understand that.

Pulled or chopped pork, beef, chicken, etc should be a wonderful source of protein. Keep in mind that the fat does render through the meat in beef and pork, which is what makes it so darned juicy.  If you have a dumping reaction to fat, then treat lightly at first to see how you do with it.

Alabama white sauce has less sugar than the standard sauce if you choose to go there, and of course, cole slaw on top is always a winner.  Beware that both do have 'some' sugar, though.  You know your own limits - or you will soon enough.

Finally - the bark is a combination of sugar and salt with other spices, so ask for "bark free" and avoid dry rubbed ribs.

I wish I had some good chopped bbq up here in New York. Since I moved from NC I really crave it. With cheer wine. And hush puppies.

Of of course Even if I tried I would probably only be able to get the meat down. ;)

hey I can crave.
