did anyone receive staples in their stomach? I'm on day 3 and they itch. That's healing right? I'm thinking as long as my stomach isn't hot or red or leaking any pus all over it's just the healing process. What do you think? I put a little neopsorin on it but I hope I am cleaning these things right.

I still have my staples in and they have itched since about day 3!  My surgeon said to put absolutely nothing on them just shower use soapy warm water rinse well and pat dry.

Don't use neoporin.  Or anything.  Keep them dry and happy.  Itching is a sign of healing and your doc should have given you the warning signs to look out for.

Just wash gently with warm, neutral soapy water :)

I had an allergic reaction to the steri-strips put over the incisions. The itch and redness was no joke!  My surgeon had me use hydrocortisone cream.  Took a couple of weeks to go away though.

I had staples. They itched like crazy which meant healing was taking place. You will have some relief as soon as they come out. I had bandages over mine so all I could do was scratch around the area to provide some relief.

Nope, I had glue but yes I had itching when healing. I was told no neosporin and to use anti bacterial soap.

If it's really itchy, take a Benedryl. I had my staples out at 6 days.

Itching is good! Sign you are healing. Don't put anything on it, just warm soapy water and keep dry.  Congrats on your surgery

Things to look for?  Redness and warm to the touch.  If you see these call your surgeon ASAP to check for infection.
