Not even sure where I go from here
I went to BSNC in Feb. My BMI was at 36. Was scheduled to have sleep apnea test done, due to no other consistent comorbidities. I cancelled it, thinking that I can lose weight on my own. Here I am in August, with another sleep apnea test scheduled. I'm def going to this one. My BMI is now at 38.7, with consistent strides to lose weight. I was advised to start the 6 months monitored "diet". Does it make sense just to wait on the sleep apnea test results? If I don't have sleep apnea, I'm not sure what point it would be to start the 6 months.
Why wouldnt you just do them both? If you want to have surgery, and theyre required, may as well get it over with.
Will they only do your surgery if you have sleep apnea?

I can only have the surgery if I have sleep apnea (since I have no other comorbidities). The 6 months is also required. But if I do the 6 months and don't have sleep apnea, then I've wasted copays, etc. I literally need to gain like 6 lbs to have a BMI 40+, and then it wouldn't matter about having comorbidities.
Get a pair of ankle weights.

What does your insurance require for the monitored diet? Do you just need to check in with a GP or nutritionist? Or do they make you do shakes?
If it's only going to be something like a $10 copay and watching what you eat for one month before the sleep study, I'd say it'd be worth it.
