They have a section just for recipes, with reviews too. It's great :)

If you can, check the meat counter at your local grocery store.  My meat counter at Kroger has boneless chicken breast for $1.99 a pound.  I butterfly a breast and bake it at 350 for about 20 minutes.  Or cook it on the stove in a pan over medium heat using cooking spray for about 4 or 5 minutes per side. if it looks like it's starting to get too dark on the outside, add a little water to the pan to keep it from burning.

Season it with whatever type of spices you like.  I like curry, or you can use chili powder or garlic and salt and pepper.  The prepackaged stuff is easier, but it's more expensive and has added junk in it.

If you're not sure about how to cook, watch a few youtube videos.  I believe you are young, and it's in your best interest to learn to cook now.  It will allow you to have more control over what you are putting in your body. I still love to cook, even though I can't eat nearly as much as I could before surgery.

The stats aren't awful, but there are better options if you need quick, easy chicken, and I agree with the posters that mentioned that this may not be the best choice if you're just a month post-op. When I was working meat back into my diet after surgery, I started with roasts cooked in the crock pot with sauces, or thinly sliced deli meats that were very tender. We are all different, but for me I found that ham and roast beef seemed to settle better than chicken or turkey for the first few months.

Good decision to pass them by!!  You madef a good decision, so you may not need this little lecture - but some one might.

Are you at Goal Weight - if not - I suggest that you stay out of the food-exploring phase until you are.

The biggest risk you run at this point is not losing all the weight that you want/need.  Introducing app stimulating foods early is one good way to stop your weight loss or make it more difficult.

The only thing you should be looking at in terms of food selections is what is on your surgeon's post-WLS instructions.  I am nearly positive that nothing even close to these appear on that list.

Sorry to take a hard line on this, but get to your goal weight and then, with that time and space between you and MO, then decide if you would eat these. (I'm guessing that you will make the same decision then, also).

IMHO - Stick to the straight and narrow until goal weight.  Do not engage in window shopping for food-eat what is on your surgeons list - PERIOD, END OF STORY.  Spend your free time someplace other than in the freezer section.

I buy skinless and boneless chicken at the butcher section of the grocery store.  At one month out, I would not have had the stomach to eat even a "lightly breaded" chicken.

Another good option is bacon-crusted chicken or cheese stuffed into the chicken or both.
