Miralax
Stool softeners, for me, just make my poop smooshy, they don't actually help me to poop.

Miralax is almost tasteless. What do you not like about it? I put mine in my coffee when I take it. Laxatives work with different actions. Some lubricate. Some stimulate. Some hydrate. If you wait too long the stool becomes hard. Miralax helps bring moisture back into the stool so it can be expelled. If a stool softener pill works for you go for it. It really is all about results.

I just began taking Miralax with my coffee a few weeks ago and I'm pissed I haven't been doing this before! Stool softeners don't work well for me but it is really about results. I would just worry about the every day with the stool softeners but that might be because of how my body reacts to them - I don't know how everyone else works with them.

I am taking Senekot with laxative. Little orange pills... they work great for me right now, but I don't know why I don't switch to the Miralax... I probably will when I run out of this bottle. Stool softeners and fiber didn't work for me.
I just know that I need something... because if I go too long without 'going'... then it feels like I'm in labor again. And I don't like that AT ALL!

Miralax is a lifesaver for me. One capful daily for me. What don't you like about it? Are you mixing in enough liquid?

Trust me drinking Miralax is way better than getting constipated. I have major texture issues. I can drink it with no problem. I mix it in my Crystal Light.
Last year I went by ambulance to the hospital. I had such severe pain. I would never have done this if I could have walked. The pain was something I could not deal with. It was the worst pain ever. Having natural childbirth was easier than this pain.
When I went to the ER they did a cat scan. Well it showed that I was very constipated. I was going to the bathroom on a regular basis. Thinking I was okay.
It was really embarrassing to have this happen. And expensive. So I drink my Miralax daily.
