Celebrating 3 years post-op Revision
Today I am celebrating the three life changing years of my upgrade from Lap Band (2006) to RNY (2013).
It is impossible to write all the ways my life has changed in these three years - both the good and bad. But every moment has been worth it because it has brought me here today. I am happier, stronger, healthier and more me. .
So this is a shout out to those who are lurking, or struggling in the early days of post-op life - it is worth it. I would do this over again every year if necessary. It is the very best thing I've done for myself in the past decade and I have zero regrets.
It isn't easy, but I don't find it hard either. I am not cured. I am a work in progress, but I am worth the effort it takes to stay the course and I want this new me more than I want any food.
I am so grateful to all my Hags and OH friends who have made this journey possible for me as I live overseas and have no access to in person support. I have learned so much from so many of you over the years and I hope I can continue to give back to this group as I slowly make my way through the harder years of maintenance.
Beautiful!, You're beautiful girl, inside & out. What a nice post & so great getting to know you out here in cyberspace. Hope your life continues to stay blessed.
