Pictures and shame
Thank you. I have always compared myself (weight wise) to others for as long as I can remember, probably as far back as grade school. I know it's something else I need to work on.

I just adore you Deanna. I agree 100%

I can understand how you feel and why you feel that way but you will want those pictures in the future. I value all of my pictures at all of my weights, they do give me a bit of a cringe sometimes when I see how big I was but I love the memories I've created. I don't shy away from camera and I never have. I definitely am taking more pictures now though lol!

Awww don't feel bad girl, try to find something in the picture that you like, maybe your smile, or laugh, or remember how you felt being with your friends & the fun time you had.
Hold onto the feeling of enjoyment with your friends whenever you look at the picture, & let go of embarrassment/humiliation/depressed feelings. It'll take awhile, but eventually I think you'll be better off for it.

I am so glad I had the courage to post this. Normally I don't tell anyone what I'm feeling. All of you who have responded have been so kind and wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will head your great advise.

Coming here and posting is one thing I know will help me. We all have a common thread. We all want to lose weight and keep it off. We also need each other.
Keep coming back. Venting here is a great place. Most who have not had surgery to lose weight are clueless to how our lives are.
Thank you. You're so right. I feel like I have a definite addiction to sweets and that's what got me here, besides the fact that I just didn't give a darn. In addition to "most who have not had surgery to lose weight are clueless", those who don't understand addictions are also clueless. I had one person say to me "how could you LET that happen". I wanted to smack her. LOL (but I didn't). I just don't associate with her anymore.
