6 years out a note to newbs
Go to my account name "Just Ducky" and then I believe there is a tab like 3-4 down on the upper side that says "BLOG" just click that abd you should be good to go! It runs from most current to oldest (closest to surgery) hope this helps anyone new or old.
((((hugs)))) to all in your journey no matter where you are. Each time period comes with it's own unique sets of "problems" or worries, whether you are 3 days PRE-Op or 13 years POST-Op. I know some of us all have different personalities, I enjoy everyone but never forget I too was a "newbie". (Or an "Oldie") whatever you wish to call me. I got support, a few knocks and a TON of great info and always wonderful leads. it wasn't always the smell of Roses, but everyone had the smell of honesty and support and for that I am grateful.
Warmly,
Jackie

Just Ducky,
You do look amazing!!! And more than that, one can see how you love life to the fullest. You are truly an inspiration for someone in the pre-op stages.
I thought I was close to having a sleeve, but, need a CT scan for my liver cysts and another gastroscopy for my hiatus hernia, for surgeon to confirm yay or nay and which surgery is best. I guess surgeon is the best one to say.
I hope that I can be just as successful with my weight loss after surgery as you have been.......and love life again as well.
All the best to you!! Love your pics!!
Hi Porridge:
If you want it, you can have it....Of course no one can plan for emergencies or a bad surgery, however we all have control over what we eat. Believe me, it is VERY easy a few years out to go back to take-away/Fast food, crisps/chips, food that is "bad" for us....No one is saying you can't ever enjoy Aunt Petunia's friend chicken, just kind of pick off the coating and enjoy the chicken! Always stay away from "sweets" whether you dum*****t...Your body gets addicted to easily on crisps and sweets. (Sadly). Best not to just mess with them at all.
Think of your new tool like a water balloon, yes you are "tempted" to see "How much can I cram in there..." (Probably a lot more than you think!) however that won't keep you lean. We (patients) get about a 2-3 year period where the weight seems to come off easily and then...BAM! It doesn't come off so easily anymore. So always get used to eating "sugar free" (Sugar substitute) etc. It just makes it easier for our brains to feel "full".... And I NEVER felt full the same after surgery...There was no "full/saiety" feeling. Just a runny nose or a kind of queasy feeling or hiccups and that was MY signal that I was way full now and to stop eating. You will learn you signal(s). Best of luck on your journey.... ((((hugs))))
Warmly,
Ducky
