Feeling absolutely miserable.  Can drink anything with a burning sensation in my chest.

Migraine headache and nausea.

I just want to know when I can expect to start feeling better - so far it's been 2 days of hell.

Thanks

Sorry to hear you are miserable right now. The pain meds made me nauseous so I made the nurses give me something different. Every day you will feel better. Pretty much all my pain was caused by gas so I felt better every time I walked. I walked a lot! Hang in there!

Focus on drinking. Hot, cold, different flavors. Do whatever you need to.

It takes a while. Be patient. Walk to distract yourself. It will get a little better, every day.

Hey ya:

I know it took me a good MONTH to feel better and at LEAST A good two-3 days after surgery. The Pain-meds (morphine) caused bad headaches...The air inside caused extreme pain and the surgery/anesthesia itself caused bad nausea...Hang in there, it WILL pass. You had MAJOR, major surgery..It takes at least a good 1-2 weeks to feel "human" again. Honest.

Remember..WLS is NOT "mini-surgery" but MAJOR surgery. Even if they used the laparoscopic or da-vinci robot...Major like in heart surgery major, so be patient.

Warmly,

Jackie

Honest anwser: watch a video of your procedure on YouTube.  Really take in what you just had done and imagine all that your body is doing to repair, heal, and adjust.

No one can anwser for you when it gets better because it has some to do with your body but a lot to do with your mental state.

Drink, walk, and call a friend, watch movies that make you happy, and get yourself in a good mind space about the new habbits you will form, new things you'll be able to do in a smaller body, and what kind of things you'll do when your at goal.

Every single day , you should feel a little better. I felt like I had a huge turn around on day 4 when I could really begin getting fluids down and the more I walked, the better I felt . We are left with tiny incisions but this surgery is a major operation !

Thanks -  was wondering when I would start to feel tiny steps of progress in healing.
