Food Ideas?
I'm 5 to 6 weeks out of gastric bypass. Can anyone give me some food ideas, I've been eating the same things over and over and getting really tired of it.
I really want to find something to drink beside water, but Crystal Light is sweet, and hate the after taste, I don't like Tea, Diet Cranberry Juice is too sweet even watered down. I don't know what to do, I'm really thirsty and starting to hate water.
Go to the diet and nutrition board... There's a post about drink mixes . True lime is the drink mix and everyone was saying they loved it . Hope this helps. Also, what have you been eating ? That will
help with giving you food ideas .

I can't do CL either, because it is too sweet. However, I did use a little to flavor my water, so I didn't get bored with jus****er. It worked for awhile. Then True Lemon/Lime came out. I love those. They have a new one its a watermelon flavor and its my favorite. Look for them in your grocery store. I am sure it will be a nice change for you.
As for foods, if you can post what you have been eating, we can see if we can give you some ideas.
How abou****ered down Crystal Light? Maybe try 1/2 packet in a 16oz bottle of water or even to one of those big 1 liter bottles. Or water with a splash of apple juice? Or stick some watermelon, pineapple, or apple pieces with cinnamon in a bottle of water and just refill it all day letting the fruit lightly flavor the water.

Do you check Pinterest? I do searches for bariatric foods with the addition of the "stage" I'm in. There are so many ideas there. I'm still straining things and gradually moving to pureed, but so many recipes there can be modified. I'm loving coming up with different ideas and how I'd modify this or that. I can only tolerate very little currently, but I'm excited about making kudzu-friendly foods!

A few ideas in no special order...Hot herbal tea. You could add lemon, Splenda, and milk. You might want to try beef. My first choice for beef would be Wendy's Chili. Like with any new food...Have a small taste. It has beans, beef, tomatoes and other stuff. Again...A small spoonful, chewed to puree. Then wait 10 minutes. See if the pouch is OK with it or not. If for any reason it feels strange down there STOP. WAIT!! Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Also when you are trying it you should be at home...If you get the foamies. You may want to forego the beef and just have a small amount of the beans. Good eats... Or concerning beef, you could try lean strips of beef (go very little fat). Just a taste. Beef is harder to digest than chicken, turkey, tuna, shrimp, milk, yogurt. Pork is even harder to digest. I would wait months before you test pork. Also...Nuts to you!! I keep plain nuts in my pockets to snack on. I also put raisins, banana chips, and rye crackers (from IKEA)...I use the crackers in case I feel nausea.
I always keep a can of chicken vegetable soup (pop top lid) in my car...Also a bag of nuts and the above items...crackers raisins. They go bad in the summer real fast, but can keep for months in the car during the cooler months. Brian
