What is your mantra?
Anyone have a mantra, phrase, routine, health thought, etc they use when they are about to make a wrong decision as far as eating?
I mean, like in golf when I am playing bad I just think "tempo, straight, turn-up, drop and burn" This reminds me to "swing smoother, take club straight back, turn my shoulders, **** my wrist and then let club drop into ball, and finish shot through". It may sound crazy but a LOT better than the 100 or so swing thoughts I used to have! Just a nice little rhyming thought to get me back on track
I was at Dairy Queen the other day with my 9 year old and I asked for a small cup of sugar-free ice cream which they were out of but they told me they had regular. Almost automatically I said "ok" but then I thought of my eating phrase "be selective, not automatic".
In other words for me to choose my food and not let my food chose me. It worked! I find that for myself, saying this phrase puts me in control of what I eat, where as in the past I was just an 'automatic' eater, eating what ever was in front of me. So I was just wondering what phrase, thoughts, mantra, routine, whatever, that others use to help them?
