Please stop eating crap right after surgery!

Everyone's capacity is different.  I can eat a cup and a half, but it depends on what it is.  If the meal is really dense and mostly meat, it's more like 8 oz.  Less dense, 12 oz.  It's not a big deal.  Over time, you realize that it's more about WHAT you're eating than HOW MUCH you're eating.

On facebook I "liked" a couple of sleeve pages and I am amazed by what I see people post! Popcorn at 2 weeks out! Someone posted that they want the sleeve but a coworker told her that she could gain the weight back and was it true? All the crap I see makes me so crazy! So many bad bad bad choices!! And people think it's funny when they eat something bad or defy the rules!

Gracious. How in the world can anyone consume that stuff??!! New sleeve here and I can't tolerate more than a couple of bites of strained soups. I ventured into the thinned cream of wheat today; which is on my list and the first bite was the best tasting food I've had in weeks. It was heaven in my mouth, but the third small bite had me pushing the tiny bowl back and retreating to my bed in a fetal position.

Once you're further out, it's absolutely physically possible to eat crap. At 2.5 years out, I could easily graze on a full box of cookies or a large bag of chips over the span of a few hours; carbs don't fill you up the way protein does, and your sleeve capacity does increase as you heal.

Doesn't mean that we should, of course.

Milk shakes, alcohol are what we call slider foods. I kid you not, I have seen posts where they bought a burger and put it in the blender.

Yes! And asked if it would be ok to have pizza during puree stage if they put it in the blender first.

Really? Pizza in a blender sounds good to someone?

Especially right out of surgery.  The smell of pasta cooking made me want to barf.  Your taste buds are out of whack from the anesthesia.
