Anyone use a Kid's Menu card?

After my RNY, I received a card that I was supposed to show at restaurants, which explained that I had weight loss surgery, a much lower volume, and to request that they let me order off of the kid's menu.  I carried it for a while, but even when I was early out, I never used it.  It felt weird to, and besides, anything I didn't eat at the restaurant just came home as leftovers, and I had at least one meal for the next day (if not 2 or 3).  Besides, it seems like most kid's menu have crap like hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, and stuff like that.  It seems like most kids menu are more concerned with offering things kids will actually eat rather than actual healthy choices.

On Facebook, I belong to a group run by my hospital's bariatric group, so we've all went through the same program, and we're all relatively local.  A few days ago someone asked if any restaurants don't accept the card.  I was really surprised when a dozen people quickly replied with all the places that they've used their card.  I posted that I never had, and just use the leftovers the next day or two, but I was the only one *****plied that way.

So it just got me curious:  have any of you used a Kid's Menu card?

Nope, most kid menus have crappy choices on them.  Way too many carbs and not enough protein.

Also, I don't share my medical condition with wait staff at restaurants.

I wpeither take home leftovers, or share with my husband, or eat what I need and leave the rest.

I frequently order off the senior menu even though I'm not technically a "senior" yet.  The portions are usually a little smaller but I still have leftovers.

I really never wanted to.  I just take home leftovers or ask if I can order off the senior menu.  Since I am older they never question it anyway.  I just never wanted to stand out or appear different.

Usually if I have too much food I offer it to my boyfriend or kids or whoever I am with or take it home or even, god forbid, just leave it there.  It goes against my cheap nature not to get my money's worth but I just live with it and consider it part of the cost of eating out.

No, I had zero interest in doing that. I have no problem with taking home leftovers, or just deciding I've had enough. Needing to clean my plate helped get me to obesity.

Back when I had surgery and OH put out the restaurant card, it was accepted.  But, like you I never used it.  I ate off my husbands plate or took food home for left overs.

As time progressed and more and more people had WLS and attempted to use the restaurant card, many places would not honor it.
