What ways are you increasing your NEAT?
Is anyone else working on increasing their NEAT (activity besides exercise to increase metabolism) ? I'm learning that I can't just say "well, I worked out today so I'm good" and then just go home and loaf around on the couch. What other non-exercise activities are you doing to increase your activity level? Trying to get more ideas on how to increase my activity levels overall.

I have a stretch cord that I hook on my feet and do arm exercises when I'm sitting down in the living room, and also push on it with my feet. It keeps me moving rather than being completely still.

Use the downstairs bathroom at work (I'm on the 2nd floor)
Send my print jobs to the print room at the opposite end of the building
Do extra laps around the grocery store-- get produce, then do a full circuit of the store before moving on to meat
Wear my son while I do chores around the house, since lugging an extra ~20lb certainly doesn't hurt (and he likes cuddles!)
Turn on some music and boogie while making dinner
Go on at least one brief Pokemon safari in the evening
Sit on a stability ball while watching TV

Pokemon Go has me doing things I've never done before:
-walking for my entire hour lunch break
- talking to strangers
-celebrating/high five-ing strangers when we all catch a rare pokemon at a lure
-I've walked 44km in 12 days
I started playing pokemon ironically, and now I play it in earnest because it is so fun.

Oh hell yes! And even better, my PARENTS are doing the same thing halfway across the country! They even created an account for my son (almost 9 months old) "so Nana can catch a Snorlax for Nolan." Cutest thing EVER!!

I walk at least once an hour at work, make myself get up and take a lap or two.
I do yard work or putter most evenings, even if jus****ering flowers/plants at least I am out and about.
I talk the dog for a walk or play with the dog in the yard on as daily basis.
I park at the furthest parking spot from the entrance to work.

This is a GREAT question! I took over all of the housework/ chores of the whole house on an everyday basis. I'm here about 5 hours more than the Mrs. so, when I first heard about "NEAT" I was intrigued a ton.
It WORKS!!! I have reached goal in 10 months. I now walk 3 miles before bfast. Then I work out with my weights in my front deck area. Then I do about 2 solid hours of thorough house maintenance. Then, my workday starts.
I love that they found a method to supplement working out.
GREAT post!
