"reading about royal babies"

That made me snort Deb! Idk why but that made me laugh :)

Cleaning does not help me relax either, it just makes me angrier lol.

Walking. When I am feeling out of control, I go for a walk. My fitbit really changed my life. Sounds silly, but mentally I feel so much better when I get my steps in. It does help me control my impulse to eat when I am stressed.

Do you like animals?  Maybe volunteer at a rescue or shelter.  I know when I am having a bad day I can count on my horses to make me feel better even if it is just crying into their mane or brushing them.  Animals sense when we are stressed and try in their own way to comfort us.

Definitely mindless tv ... Gossip rags ... I used to go to the buffet with a gossip rag preop now I'll stop in a rite aid parking lot read and sip vitamin water and decompress. Sometimes you just Have to.

For me relaxing in my jetted Jacuzzi with organic soothing bubble baths or bath salts and a good book really works . Also taking care of plants and animals.

In my experience though if something is really bugging you regularly ( everyone has a three pm low sugar mood swing that's not what I mean) I think its best to look for a long term solution that really improves the quality of your life like therapy.

My belief is that in the struggle with addiction to excess food many of us learned to mistreat ourselves or at least passively accept much less rewards from our daily lives than we deserve. Concentrating on making the lifestyle changes that involve significant non-food rewards means much less attraction to or temptation by excess bites.
