I had my WLS in December and wore several layers of clothing, including a parka home.  I did not understand why people recommended taking a pillow for the ride home, i didn't say anything because I figured it helped some people.

After another surgery in this summer, I know why - OMG the SEATBELT is such a pain.  No matter where I sit or adjust the darn thing, it digs into my sutures.

I used a pillow- for the same reason the nurse recommend to hold a pillow against your abdomen when you cough of sneeze immediately post op. It reduces the 'jiggly belly' effect; which seems to make pain amplify. For me if had nothing to do with the sutures/seatbelt.

I had no "jiggle belly' effect, no pain except from the %^&^ seat belt - we had 2 different issues - one common solution.
