UPDATED POST TO BE LESS MEAN AGAINST HAGS/SOME VETS
Just so you know, I dont see anything wrong with your post. I have never been attracted to overweight people, doesnt make me (or anyone a bad person). Even when at my heaviest, I was still active and in the gym. I had a skinny beautiful girl that wanted to date me (and we kind of did) but ultimately I ended it because she didnt ever do anything physically active.
There will be several members who will jump out of the woods and comment things about how you're shallow, that you are full of yourself, that you think you're an expert, etc etc. They will pipe up and chime in and be negative pretty often. They have great information to share, but they also can be pretty aggressive and cruel to people. They may not fully understand your reasoning/motive behind posts, but thats not the problem, I guess.
Be forewarned, any response you make they will twist and contort to try to make you even more vile. Then go snicker and gossip about you on their private group/forum.
Try not to let them bother you.
I read your post more so along the lines of you wanting someone who has made better decisions in life than you have as far as self control with food, exercise, etc. Someone that would be able to help keep you accountable and on the new and right track you're seeking.
No shame in that game, man. At all.

Ignore the hags... Grim... etc. They will pipe up and chime in and be negative as often as possible.

You sir are an ass plain and simple and are just as shallow as the OP.
Those vets that you want to rag on because they express their opinions will always be better than you because they tell the truth and follow the program.
What you think is negativity is actually facts and correct information. The OP in other posts admitted to eating things that she shouldn't be eating at only a few months out and continues to say "this is the last time" or "lesson learned" only to come back a week or two later with something else.
Does it bother you that they have a private group?
Not really, dont know about OPs other posts, havent read them so I cannot comment.

I saw one post where she said she tried eating an egg sandwich or something, and now knows not to try that. Seems pretty fine to me? She tried something and found it wasnt a good idea. I dont fault her, we've all done that.
Maybe shes removed other posts where she has done the same stuff

Chris, Here is the problem as I see it. You do come across as a know-it-all who wants to fight everyone else's battles for them. You jump into every fray that comes along and put down the vets that have been around supporting folks (some of them for DECADES). You seem to think you know the mind of everyone that posts. News flash..... YOU DON"T!!!! In this post you state that, "She tried something and found it wasn't a good idea. I don't fault her, we've all done that." We have not "all done that". After my RNY, I did not go off plan one time until I was at my goal weight. I still am VERY strict about what I eat. At almost 6 years out I still measure every bite.
You need to learn to stop generalizing and lumping groups together. You also need to stop "warning" people about the most successful vets on this site. Those vets have a lot of very valuable info and your obvious bias may be preventing a newbie from taking the advice seriously.
Some people are more blunt than others, but EVERYONE that you have "put down" has a heart to help. They are here to try to see everyone be successful. If misinformation is put out there, and the vets think it's dangerous, they jump in to correct it. I have 30 years of WLS experience. I've learned a lot in those years. Many things that a doctor may not even think about. I know how to fail at WLS. I know about MANY complication because I lived them. I also know how to succeed. Surgeons are not God. They don't know the ins and outs of living this post surgery life.
Many of us vets can see red flags from miles away and run in to stop the destructive behavior before the newbie hurts themselves or sets themselves up for failure. It is NOT because we get our "jollies" from hurting people. I would much rather someone who has been there, done that, and has the tee shirt, step up and knock some sense into me if fuck up. It is not "ganging up" just because you see a lot of people who disagree with a post and agree with each other. If I saw a number of people posting against my "ideas", and they were very successful WLS patients, I think I would open my ears and listen. They know what they are talking about. We really do have everyone's best interest in mind.
Travel your own journey, Chris, and stop ******g people off.
Thanks for quoting him since he wants to rewrite history.
He specifically says to ignore Grim and "the hags." Not sure why it's such a personal issue for him, but he's on his own difficult journey. Maybe he fancies himself the Batman of OH, protecting people from those awful meaniepants people who offer honest support.

You do realize that you're the most negative person I see here right? Repeatedly I see you being passive aggressive because people have called you on your **** Could you please GTF over it and move on? It's truly beating a dead horse here.
We get it - and I mean the collective 'we' as in the ether that is the internet - you're better than everyone else and you're making the best choices anyone who has ever made in the history of WLS. And you know better than anyone who has had WLS and has stuck around for years, which BTW does not include me. You may not know this, but you don't need to mention these things over and over and over and over again.
I'm mainly a lurker because I don't have a ton to add, when I do I post. But that's why you haven't seen my name much. But I see your name ALL THE TIME. And almost all of it has to do with PEOPLE ARE PICKING ON ME.
The OP honestly hurt my feelings with her post because of course I thought of someone treating me like that when I was obese and I was shocked anyone couldn't see it like that. My response did not berate her or anything but I can see why others may have because the post is kind of inflammatory. But you like to jump into those posts with your own bull**** GTF over it and move on. Seriously.
