High Blood Pressure Medications?

I am on a low dose of medication for high blood pressure (reduced by Dr after surgery) but my readings are lower than I ever remember and I'm a little dizzy sometimes when I stand.  My average readings now are 106/72.  I'm going to check with my doctor, but wondering if any of you can tell me how low they usually let it go while on medication?

Without medication, after couple of coffees my BP runs 100s/65 -75. This is what is consider normal.

But since your body is used to higher BP - it takes a while to get used to it.

Itwould be good to talk to the doc about getting off the meds. When you that - you may see an temporary  increase in weight... (water retention)

Good luck.

Look up orthostatic hypotension. It's very common after WLS. Mine was running 90/50, and I passed out a couple of times after standing up too quickly.

Talk to your doc. It's probably time to get off of all BP meds.

Drink more, a lot more. More salt and electrolytes. And be very careful when standing up. This usually resolves itself by 12 to 18 months.

Once doctors get you on BP medication, they hate taking you off.  My PCP told me that as long as I was functioning, she wouldn't stop the medication.  She did stop the water pill I took with it.  My blood pressure got so low that I passed out twice.  Once I hurt myself pretty well.  My PCP took me off immediately after that.  Guess that's what she meant by no longer being functional.  My blood pressure still runs very low.  I've been a little dizzy a few times, but have not passed out.

I was about 6 months post-op when the same thing happened to me. My doctor had me cut my pills in half and watch my bp for a few more months then he stopped it completely.
