I just click on the little round thing to the right of my user name (last thing on right).  Then click on Settings.  Then click on "Message Board" and there's the spot for adding in some personal info.  Then save it.

Hi, I was 57 1/2 when I had RNY.  Mine did come off more slowly than a friend of mine who was in her 30s - but it really adds up over time.

I took a class TWICE, although it was not group therapy, it seemed to fulfill that need for me.  This is a time to get help and work through any issues.

Hang in there,

WOW! SOUNDS LIKE ME! I'm 57 and yes weight loss is soooooo slooowww! But like you I can deceive myself in what I am putting into my mouth.

I had surgery on Aug/2014 and lost basically all my weight up to now in 10 months. I'm coming up on 2 years and although I have maintained, no matter what I do no more weight will come off but I still continue to work out, try to build muscle and stay healthy. I've tried no carb, tried less than 1000 calories and although I may lose a few lbs it always come right back to where I am.

I'm just resigned to the fact that this is where my body wants to stay-at least for now, But MFP is a good app as long as we are honest with it of which I will admit I'm not 100%, sometimes due to laziness, sometimes due to dishonestly putting in the calories to my advantage! (really how can it be?)

But it's a journey and a learning curve, and I was thinking of joining our local OA's. The key is that we have to continue to try to get healthy and look better which kind of go hand in hand and not be so focused on the scale but also NSV (Non Scale Victories). Wish all well, we are certainly in this battle together!!

To keep my attitude up during stalls, I would use them as a sign that it's time to try on new clothes.  I always went down a size or 3 by then.

I had this surgery 2 days before my 56th birthday.... Some months I lost more and some months less... but in the end I lost 165lbs by my one year anniversary and then got to goal.... Stick with it and it will happen. I had quite a few plateaus...

Even though you didn't do measurements before.. DO THEM NOW.. You will still notice changes... and there are still health benefits that can not be measured by weight or inches!  You are doing the right thing, you are on the right path!!!  You got this!! Keep up the AMAZING work and Congratulations on the 5lb loss!!!
