Ron Lester's Passing
I am just stunned at this news in our OH Newsletter today ..

I remember being at the OH Natl Conf. that year and hearing Ron speak, not only about his former troubles with his weight but the post-op struggle with all his loose skin and "lost relationships" as a result (which is why he eventually opted for the many PSes). He was really an inspiration to many of us.
I totally don't understand why Ron passed away after winning those battles (and at age 45 only, to boot) ... was the WLS somehow responsible? Was it all just for nothing? I don't understand it ..
You'll be missed by many of us, and R.I.P., Ron ..

According to the news, he died from liver and kidney failure. Lots of possible reasons other than WLS for those.

Yeah, he wasn't always a nice person on these boards but he had his demons and probably succumbed to them at such a young age.
WLS doesn't work on our heads or our personalities and his untimely death should be his legacy to remind us how we need to take care of ourselves.

Based on his posts here, and fb, he was poorly informed about living with his surgery (he himself wasn't even sure which he had) and that is very bad, especially with one of the malabsorbtive surgeries.
Liver and kidney failure...I suspect something other than WLS related. The people in this community always warn of transfer addiction, and that may apply here.
