Hi all -

Today is my 3 week anniversary and my first day back at work. Am a week into soft foods and still learning what full feels like... and what happens when I push past my limit. Is interesting how the brain wants to eat more than the body can handle. I'll eat about 1.5 oz of food and feel that pressure, but my mind says, wait! I'm not done yet, eat a couple more bites (and regret it afterwards)! But overall it's not too bad and I know this will get better over time.

Getting the required water in still takes a lot of effort and focus, but I'm now able to drink more with each sip, and feels like how I drank before surgery. I'm still struggling here and had a couple of days where I considered going to a clinic to get an IV, but have so far been ok.

I've graduated from pre-mixed protein shakes to my own using my Nutribullet. I made one this morning and instead of letting it sit to get the air out, I made the brilliant decision to try drinking this right away... with a straw (which I had used last week without a problem). REALLY BAD IDEA! I had the worst foamies and couldn't get rid of them. It's 3 hours later, I'm at work and I'm still feeling the effects.

So lesson learned... if I want to test something, do it at night!!

Am so happy to be back at work and into my normal routine. I'm glad I took 3 full weeks though if nothing else to have the time to learn how to eat and drink again. I'm amazed at those of you who only took a week, or a few days!

Feeling good, no real complications to speak of. Three more weeks of soft foods and then I'm onto "normal" eating!

This morning I weighed myself and after a week stall, I'm down 2 lbs... a total of 26 lbs!!

Thanks all as always for the support here... this group rocks!!

awesome job so far! ive learned that if i get the foamies, to mentally make myself throw up, or at least want to...

once i get a few balls of slimies out im normally good to go.. i dont stick my finger down my throat to encourage it, but ive found i have the mental capability when im in that situation to encourage myself to throw up somehow lol

actually had this AM :(
