Lost 420 Pounds
He all! Just found this site! My name is Justin Wiseman I once weighed over 600 pounds and am now down to 180! I found a life I never even imagined, what has helped you all keep the weight off and find success? Mine has been off for 4 years and am to the point where I can eat what I want but have that fear of going back to my old ways.
Welcome Justin and congrats on the loss and keeping it off for 4 years. I'm still losing, but I'm getting closer and closer to goal and I'm excited and terrified at the same time. This forum is such a huge part of my support system, and it's awesome to see people like you who can be successful over the long haul.
I look forward to seeing you around.

Wahoo-
You will find this site to be great. It is an amazing resource to keep yourself accountable during all stages of surgery/ pre /post etc.
Hi Justin, wow 420 lbs!!! That's fantastic, you must be so proud of yourself. You've done well with keeping it off too, just keep doing the things you've been doing. We will always have to be mindful of what we eat and stay on some kind of plan. Coming here for support helps a lot! You are an inspiration and probably have a lot to share with us too. Welcome!
Justin welcome and great job! I am with you on the fear of regain. Sticking around here is what helps to keep me focused. So hope you stick around and check things out....

WOW!!! That is amazing bro! Other than we, no one truly understands how hard this journey is and how much discipline and self-control we need? Yes, the surgery helps and certainly gives us a jump start that impels and motivates us, but after that is where the REAL HARD work begins! Especially after the tool has done its job!
Please give us any suggestions that you have learned that have helped you and also kept you going? I ask this because sadly some have actually regained weight within a few years. How do you stay motivated? How do you stay out of the old mindset in dealing with just everyday life with its anxieties, ills and challenges?
Here I have lost about a 100 lbs but am having a hard time getting to goal just under 2 years after surgery. I know I need to be patient-its a journey not a spring.
How do I stay focus in trying to lose that additional 40 lbs? Don't get me wrong, I know what I need to do-this forum has helped me in that regard. And I have remained healthy and I'm back to my lowest weight (although I had regained 7 lbs, but lost it again) and I am not a quitter. But how do I prioritize it as I once did the first few months after surgery? How do I regain that commitment and conviction I once had? I NEVER want to go back to where I was!
This is where I really respect the vets, because to me the hardest part is NOW, after the tool (surgery) have done what it could, and now we must become the tool and stay committed and focused to this new healthy lifestyle! Anyway, great news to hear and you're a good example of what we can do by staying on journey!
Thank you all so much! For those of you who asked here is more of my story that was featured during a segment on ABC's The View in October 2014 http://on.aol.com/video/the-view--meet-my-tweet-518480660
Welcome Justin. I'm about 4 years out too, but only lost a mere 290 pounds. Weighing and logging my food are the things that keep me on track.
