Surgery Day July 5th!

Hi everyone! I just got off the phone with the person in charge of scheduling...I am scheduled for my gastro-gastric fisula repair and revision surgery for July 5th! I am SO excited-nervous-happy :-)

My pre-op appointment and blood work will be done next wednesday. I will have to drive two hours north for both surgery and preop appointments. My parents will be helping take care of me, and hopefully my little guys (ages 4 and 6) will be on their best behavior and make recovery as easy on me as it can be! :-)

It is not the same revision that I had scheduled back in NY that I cancelled because of the move back in October. It will be very similar, but this Doctor is not taking out the old part of my stomach. Well as long as stay smoke free, I would assume no more fistula connections will grow back anyways and honestly this Doctor has done a few fistula repairs and I trust his experience! 

In July of 2012 I tried to have my fistula repaired by a different doctor in NY than had done my original surgery (I relocated from upstate to western ny and original doc retired) but the surgery was unsuccessful and the fistula reopened as well as another one grew back....just wanted to give a little history as to just how long I have been waiting to get fixed :-)
