Oh no. An adoption friend of mine has been battling lyme for years. HERE is her website. She is very knowledgeable. Maybe her info can help you. I hope your battle is easier than hers.

Thank you..my biggest fears are 1: the antibiotic isnt goign to kill it all because I have lower bioavailability due to rny (which is why I am on it for a month versus 2 weeks) 2) no one will know that I still got the disease because you will test false positive for months after being treated because the dead bacterial proteins and rna are floating around in ones blood for awhile after being treated. Further, on develops antibodies to the spirochetes to looking for host antibodies isnt going to help either and 3) then I end up like my colleagues dad (i.e. cognitive impairment, cardiac and other neurological issues)...

It looks like hell when I read peoples stories.

The chronic cases of lyme..after reading some of those posts (not your friends) one thinks-WOW the arthritus could be the best thing that could happen to me.  It is so scary and so sad and those patients need real help.

Thank you for giving me her postings,

Skinny

My husband had untreated Lyme disease over 9 years ago.  It went mis diagnosed for 18 months and almost cost him his life. It took flying to the US and paying out of pocket to be seen by specialists at Columbia University who prescribed IV antibiotics for his symptoms to be managed and put into remission.  He went from being on disability, bed bound to back to work pastime just 3 weeks after his first round of IV antibiotics.

It is the standard course of treatment now to take Doxycycline for a minimum of 3 weeks if you are treated straight away.  Please don't mess around with this.  I can not tell you the toll it has taken on my husband, myself and our three children.  He is forever changed.

He still has significant issues all these years later and still takes Doxycycline when he has flare ups of symptoms.  The docs say that the damage done to his body and neurological system and immune system have aged his body 25 years.

Please suck it up - take the meds.  Be grateful you know to take them and have a doc on your side!  Hope this is just a blip on your radar.

Oh geez, I'm glad you could at least get it checked out!

Do you take a probiotic? My doctor has me take one when I end up on antibiotics for a sinus infection and it seems to help my stomach.

I hate the treadmill, but I've found it's at least more bearable with my wireless headphones and a good audiobook... Maybe it's time to binge-watch something? :-D

I think I am going to have to try probiotics and get them timed right (to the medicine).

I have been going to the bathroom a lot more than usual. Like twice a day...usually ..I am a constipated person.

Thank you. I will give the wireless headphones and some tivo on an IPAD a whirl. Wrote my husband and asked if I could borrow it,since it will be a good 4 hour on the dreadmill and he said yes.

The upshot to dreadmilling is: 1) it is not hot 2) I always know where I am and 3) there is always bathrooms and water fountains around.

I'm with you on the treadmill! I'm in Arizona, we're up to 115 degrees, and being outside is just plain not an option. Plus I can have my big 32oz water bottle and not have to carry it!

You can do it :)

Horrible news. But you are lucky you got diagnosed so early. Early diagnosis allow for 100% . Hope yu will be one of those..

BTW: when you take the antibiotics with food = use black pepper with your food. Black pepper allows our gutto me more permeable - (increases permeability  - in vitro and in vivo) allowing more medicine to enter the  blood...good luck..

I lost my I phone running by putting it down somewhere in the house without charge ... now I can't get it to start making a noise and I can only hope I didn't throw it out in the trash like another time .  GRRR

More than once, I've been tempted to get those little GPS chips that you can put on keys and whatnot to find them. I can track down my phone online, but if the battery is dead I'm hosed :(

People who have the unmitigated nerve to talk to me at work before I've had my coffee.  I opened an email, read it, thought "Fuck you!" and closed it.  I will responded when the coffee kicks in.

You would think losing weight would be great, and it is... for the most part.  I need a xanax to go clothes shopping.  I seriously hate shopping.

I also hate when I know I have food in the fridge I can eat, go to get it and it's gone!  When I ask about it I get "oh.. yeah.  I must have finished that".  YOU CAN EAT ANYTHING IN THE ******G HOUSE YOU WANT LEAVE MY FOOD ALONE!!!  it was turkey pepperoni....

This coffee better kick in fast....
