How much time off work?
After my RNY I was not allowed to lift anything until I had my 6 wk post-op checkup. I returned to work 2 1/2 wks after surgery but was still feeling exhausted, yet at 3 wks I felt fine.

I work in an office and I took off 3 weeks. I can't imagine going back any sooner than that, but I know some people do. It really will depend on how you feel afterward. I was very nauseous for the first 3 weeks, not to mention exhausted. You may want to try for four weeks.

I am a teacher and I did mine on the Monday of spring break and was back at work the following Monday (I wanted to sneak it in so everyone at work wouldn't know about it). I felt a little tired and weak but was able to make it through the days. When I got home, I was exhausted and went straight to bed for a bit. If you have the time available, I would take at least a few weeks off.
