I am 6 days post op and can't stomach any more bland broth. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get some flavor into this awful clear liquid stage?

What did your surgeon say to eat at this stage?  What are you doing for your protein?

Clear liquids. I don't start on protein until week 2 and only after I've gotten 50 oz of clear liquids in.

I know every surgeon is different.  Have you contacted the dietician in the doctor's office to make sure you heard correctly.  I was told protein promotes healing and therefore am required to have 40 grams of protein per day and I get that by drinking Protein shakes.  Yes I too am getting tired of drinking everything, but my surgeon is allowing me broth, protein, oatmeal and pudding in 2-4 TBS servings.  Tomorrow is day 10 for me and I can have eggs.

I would double check with your surgeon's office just to make sure.

Did you get a notebook or anything of what to do and what to expect?  My surgeon is VERY thorough.  We got a notebook with Introduction, Preg, Surgery, Day 1-3 after surgery, Day 7, Day 10-17, Day 17-24 so on and so forth.

All the best to you.

I was told to have protein shakes right off the bat as well. (After my hospital stay that is.) I did pretty well on sugar-free popsicles during my pre-op liquid diet.

I went to a Chinese restaurant and strained hot and sour soup. It was so good!

This was also a lifesaver for me! It has flavor, and I loved it. It's amazing how something so simple can taste so good at certain times!
