Aspire Pump

Looks like this was just approved by the FDA. I wonder how effective it is of it doesn't address over eating in general and just pumps or what was eaten.

Thoughts?

Ask those who have, or had, a band. I'd bet 99.9 percent would say anything with an implanted tube and port would be a giant "Hell No."

So they say its indicated for the SMO, but then say in the study trials weight loss was ~50# at year two...

this former SMO woman would have been pisseed with that outcome.

Oh... that ... It's like having a stoma or something to connect that port to so you can barf out of your side instead of wrecking your esophagus and teeth?

That's truly horrific and barbaric. It looks like something they'd have come up with in the 1940s or something. Seriously, that horrifies me. And no one can tell me that it doesn't cause lots of scar tissue. When they loosed lapbands onto the world, no one thought about all the band slipping and scarring which occurred with great frequency.

That stomach plication thing that was on the boards a while ago even seems better than this... Loads better... And it also sets off an immediate HELL NO reaction in me.

High Weight 376, about a year before program. I gave up diet pop(and all pop), dropped 30 pounds without trying, and kept it off. Now convinced Carbonated Beverages. Are. Evil.
