Hello
I am meeting with my family doctor today to ask for a referral. I am afraid he will say no. I have been thinking about this for a very long time and keep putting it off thinking one day I could do this on my own - how many thousands of dollars on programs later and the highest I have ever been .... wish me luck! I really enjoy reading all of the support on here.
Good luck :) I was afraid of mine as well, but he ended up being on board BIG time :)
Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised :D

Do you have to have a referral? I didn't. I'm not close to my Family doc. I'm not sick a lot and I really only ever saw him for my thyroid pills and the phentermine he gave me (which did NOT help hahaha)...
Maybe you can just contact a weight loss doctor without your doc's "permission"??

From the time I got my referral, (7/14/15****il the day immediately following my 1st of 3 required Supervised Weight Loss classes (8/5/15), I ate my "normal" food. I figured that I would do it this way because soon enough my diet would be drastically restricted. In other words, until 8/5/15 I changed nor logged nothing. I have never looked back or cheated.
