Hi all -

I'm 6 days post op and realizing that eating soup means it's cold by the time I'm halfway through.

Any suggestions on bowls you've purchased to keep your soups warm? I suppose the question is for plates too.

Thanks much!

Lisa

What about a small insulated thermos, or one of those insulated latte cups? I bet you could do that and sip it while it stays warm!

The microwave was a good friend in the early days.

You put hot or boiling water inside and it keeps food nice and warm for a long time.

These are for babies, but hold the amount of food I need

Nice this is, in about 1-2 weeks this prob won't be an issue.  One thing I did was take a 6oz cup of a cream soup and heat that, eat 1/2 and put it away.  It staid as warm as needed (the first go around).  Yeti makes a small cup that would keep about anything warm or cold but they are expensive and metal, unless I used a plastic spoon I think it'd make aweful sounds. Now on a different note I have a 20oz cup to use as a drink cup and LOVE this thing.  It's my go to cup for everything, no sweating and keeps everything cold with only a few cubes of ice which means things don't ge****ered down.  For me that's important because most of my drinks have less flavor than they use to.

I'm only 5 days post op and was having the same problem so my husband put my soup in one of my Starbucks travel mugs that closes tight and I pour a little soup into my one ounce cups the hospital gave me. The rest of the soup stayed warm for a few hours. It was such a great find cause I was really tired of cold soup.

I used a Mr Coffee mug warmer a lot in the beginning.

I'm tired of cold soup, too!  I will be watching here for some good solutions.

Thanks for asking!

My YETI cup keeps coffee hot until lunchtime.  They have varied sizes, one may be perfect for holding soup.
