7 yrs post-op, BEST NSV yet!

It is hard to believe that 7 years ago I was over 100 pounds heavier.
Along the way, I have had many wonderful adventures and experiences, hiking, biking and traveling to many fabulous countries.
In January, my husband and I decided to become licensed Foster parents and 3 weeks ago, a 4-month old baby girl was placed in our home.
After 17 years of marriage, with no bio kids, we are finally parents! Our hearts are so full of love for this little munchkin!!!
I am certain that at almost 300 pounds I would not have the energy, strength or desire to do this.
I am so grateful for my surgeon and surgery .... And for,the years of support I have gotten from this site!

Thanks for all the love, folks!
I was 40 when we married, and obese, so the fertility odds were against us.
When 3 IVF's failed, we decided to be grateful for our 23 nicest and nephews and to help with our neighbor's kids in any way we could.
Fostering and adoption were just not options, my heart and mind could not fathom the heartbreak of loving a child and possibly losing them back to their birth family.
fast forward 16 years and at a holiday party, I met a woman who was there with her Foster infant and it was like a lightening strike.
My heart immediately opened to the idea, my husband was 100% on board .... And now, as we near retirement at 58 and 60, we are 'all in' to be Foster parents for up to 2 children, aged 0-6.
We know they won't be with us forever, but long enough to get a good start out of a scary place ... Long enough for their family to make a home for them or for them to go to a forever home that has been waiting for them.
My WLS put me on a path that made this possible ... Ever grateful!
