Test Results, Moving Ahead

Hi all! I went this past Monday and did my first urine nicotine test. It came back negative, and the nurse at the doctors office told me yesterday that I was given permission to move forward and that the person in charge of scheduling will be calling me to schedule my pre-op appointment, pre-op blood work, and to give me a surgery (revision) date!
My bloodwork from back in March did show slight anemia, so I'm starting Integra Iron supplements once a day. I was also told that one more urine nicotine/continine test will be called in prior to my surgery date. Not a problem, I am still smoke free...and feel SO much BETTER!
My surgery will be a revision, as I have two Gastro Gastric fistula's connecting my pouch to old stomach. I had open roux en y in July 2002, and an unsucessful fistula repair by a different doctor in western ny in July 2012. I had a different revision surgery scheduled for October 2015, but cancelled that as we moved. I saw my new surgeon down here back in March, but had failed to quit smoking until recently, so was not able to schedule surgery til that was done. I am so excited! Ready for the pain nausea and stomach probs/weight regain to finally hopefully be gone once and for all :)

Good luck. And quitting smoking is the very best thing you could do for your health.

Thank You, Kelly! :-) it was hard (again) but it was so far past the point where I enjoyed smoking. Actually, I'm not sure that I ever really did enjoy it lol
