Something triggered anxiety attacks for me this week so while I've had something really great going on I've also been dealing with trying to manage my anxiety. Which isn't pretty. I don't get them often so when I do and it's kind of out of nowhere like this I'm like wtf GO AWAY. UGH.

If you dont feel like answering this in a public forum..it is ok.

Are taking anything for it? Has the surgery changed its absorption? If so, can you get that form in a patch or a sublingual dose? HOw about vaginal delivery or colorectal delivery?

I was taken off mine before surgery. When anxious/upset I do get "afraid" but in a way in which I show out (rather than racing heart/nerves) is AGGRESSION.  The meditation helps but really only takes it down a notch or two for me. I literally need to RUN or tae-bo/kick box the angry energy away.

Hope it helps. If you got something better, PM me.  Because somedays (like today where it is all building up and I want to scream), I really do miss my pharmacological trip to the beach (which was what effexor felt like for me).

I don't mind answering, I think it's important to talk about it publicly so other people who deal with it know lots of people deal with it.

I take an AD regularly. I switched recently because my old one wasn't working as well as it had been and the new one is working well. But I deal with anxiety on a regular basis at a low level. Not enough to take something on top of my other medication. I'm working to get off of the Nuero meds for my migraines so I would prefer not to add anything extra lol!

I do a nightly guided meditation that helps me fall asleep because I have insomnia. I did do some guided meditation during the day yesterday because I was so anxious.

My BFF helped talked me off the ledge of my anxiousness and to come up with a plan for my specific anxiety on the way home from work yesterday so that legit helped.

Other than that I see a therapist regularly and that's what helps me manage usually.

I haven't had a lick of trouble with any of my meds. I have bipolar and tend towards anxiety.

Prior to getting pregnant, I was on Buspar (anxiety), Geodon (mania), Lexapro (antidepressant), and Lamictal (mood stabilizer). I dropped the first two before getting knocked up. I've also taken Ativan and Xanax for panic attacks, but those were no-go while pregnant and nursing.

Honestly the Buspar was an absolute godsend, I started it when I was 17. It was immensely helpful for intrusive thoughts and that "brain overload" that would shut me down completely in a busy crowd. The Lexapro helps keep enough of an edge off it that I can handle it with meditation and mindfulness. I've still taken a tiny half-dose of Xanax a few times, but luckily I do so very seldom.

I chose VSG primarily because I was worried about med absorption, but my surgeon didn't think it would be much of a concern with RNY either.

I haven't really had a problem with my med absorption either since RNY. I stopped the AD and started a new one because I was feeling off but that can happen with ADs when you've taken them for a while (as you know). And I didn't expect to be on that one forever.

I did have a 30 pill rx for Ativan that lasted about 1 year that I would take obviously very randomly when I really needed it and I got a new one every year. This is the first time I don't have one though, I just got a new Nuero and he was uncomfortable prescribing all my new meds - whi*****ludes Ambien- and the Ativan. Which I can respect. And since I don't need that one that much I didn't push.

I am wearing a Pink Tommy Hilfiger shirt today at work. 5 guys at work have commented on the fact I am wearing Pink today. Driving me crazy...My wife loves it and the Gals I work with like it, so it should not bother me. I pity the next one that has a smart butt comment for me. ( Oh..I left myself open!) LOL

My husband will occasionally wear pink.  I don't see any issues with it, its not like it's frilly and lacy.  It's also usually a Tommy Bahama shirt or pair of shorts, so it's more of a tropical look.  I think bravo to you for being comfortable enough with yourself to wear what you like.

When my oldest son was little his favorite color was pink.  He liked the pink Popsicle and I never made an issue out of it, lol.  He's now 16 and has worn pin****asionally.
