Help...how do you eat out??
I think "weird vegetarian food" is redundant.

It's not a problem. The first six months can be challenging, mostly because you're somewhat confident with your eating at that point, but still liable to cross the line and take one bite too many. I managed to avoid hurling in public, but I had to diligently pay attention to what was going in my mouth.
But it's easy to find something to eat. Deconstruct a meal if you have to, ask for veggies instead of potatoes/rice as a side, don't be afraid to leave food on your plate and let it be thrown away. The hardest thing to get away from is the feeling that because you're paying for it, you have to eat it all. You don't. Really.
Best of luck to you!
I can always find something on the menu.
when I travel I bring protein bars, protein powders, jerky, etc
When I need food, I get grilled chicken, fish, seafood, pork, with some green veg if I have space left.
also if you like the ready to drink protein, you can buy those when you get into the city.
easy- just have to plan ahead some.
I am only 10 weeks out and I eat out pretty frequently. I just order the smallest portions of healthy items and I always ask for a box as soon as the meal comes out so I can pack up most of my meal and only leave my small portion on the plate to eat there. It's actually nice because I usually get at least 4 meals out of every time I go out to eat :)

In the beginning I pretty much would order soup, or once cleared for salad a small side or dinner salad... and you can ask for the same protein they put on the big salads on the side.
Now I often order sandwiches or wraps and just ask for the insides... Sandwich -no bread ... I have gotten fish tacos, no taco shell... even a big steak/bacon/blue cheese salad- hold the lettuce.(too much volume)... Always comes out really nice. And of course if there is an appetizer that works...great.
