Is the VSG a sleeve or a pouch?
The only thing that has really changed on the issue is that now we have a lot of RNY experienced surgeons bringing their protocols with them into the sleeve world. VSGs used to be a subset of the DS world and those protocols applied, in this case, that NSAIDs are generally well tolerated with the sleeved stomach configuration (if not quite as well as the unmodified stomach, much better than with the RNY configuration.) In time, the differences will likely be more broadly appreciated as more surgeons get more experienced with the sleeve, just as we see many loosen up their post-op dietary restrictions over time as they gain more appreciation for the differences in that aspect of the procedure.
