I got all of the constipation meds ahead of time, so if I felt uncomfortable, I could just take it rather than have to go to store.  Baggy comf clothes.  DVDs so you are not tempted to do to much before you are healed.  Someone to watch the kids so you can get some rest for the first few days - after a week I was feeling better.  I think that first week is when you need the help.

The only kitchen gadgets that are essential is a micowave for reheating. Maybe a blender if you don't want to use a shaker bottle.

A really good kitchen scale and a set of measuring cups.

I use my scale a lot and I have A TON of little half cup gladware-type containers so I can portion out leftovers.

I measure, but usually use a container that looks like it is what most would consider a "Normal" portion for work days. I got tired of hearing, " you do not eat very much"....LOL

Invest in a good food scale.   Get some decent measuring cups and some small microwaveable containers that you can portion out your meals in.   I use a lot of the small round containers that are about 1/2 c, since I do meal prepping for my daily meals.

The only thing I bought years after my WLS and wish I had sooner was a Phillips Airfryer.   Best investment I have made!

I love a good gadget. What do you make in your airfryer? is it different than just a regular convection setting on an oven? Very curious...

You can literally make anything in the air fryer to get the same effects of frying in oil.  I do not do any fries or chicken tenders like the ads show.  I use mine for roasting veggies (roasted Brussels spriuts in the oven take 40 mins) in the air fryer I have them in about 15 mins.

I put turkey burgers in and they are done in about 15 mins and they are moist not dried out like grilling can do sometimes.

Chicken breast is done in there without having to wrap the meat in foil to lock in juices and it's done in about 15-20 and very moist.   I have many things I use it for it just really is more convenient and keeps food moist (when it should be).
