I'm just guessing here, but it may be a "cover your ass" thing so they can't be held liable if account holders did end up dying from an eating disorder and the app came into play at all. Bereaved loved ones would sue the pants off of them. The warning, I would guess, is in place for the protection of the developers and whoever else could possibly face a lawsuit.
I'm okay with it, but I'm at a different place-I'm years out and at a stable weight. ( It didn't really bug me back when I was in my losing phase. Different strokes and all that. ) My big losing days are gone, so I don't need that neat little message that pops up predicting my weight five weeks from now. ( I'll be the same weight, within a lb or 2. )
As for not understanding that particular condition-I look at it this way: How many don't understand how people can eat themselves into super morbid obesity? Opposite ends of the spectrum, maybe not the same amount of stigma, but just as much misunderstanding.
We don't necessarily need to understand to be compassionate, do we?

Thanks everyone, I was thinking I just wanna complete my entry, but really like Kat said it doesn't matter. As long as I'm getting what my surgeon requires I know I'm doing right, lol.

I complete my entry and just ignore the message. I look at the error message as a good thing. It reminds me that I'm succeeding and staying in my lower calorie range!

Don't bother to complete the entry. The amount of calories we consume as WLS patients is so low that it freaks the app out.
