Depression hit all at once

Very likely it's the hormones from rapid weight loss kicking in. I skipped that, somehow, but it is very common. I have no advice on how to deal, but the mini-vacation sounds like it's excellent timing. Enjoy your getaway!

Echoing what Heather said about meds...

I was on Wellbutrin XL for years...it has been such a good fit for me. About a year after surgery, I was starting to feel the wonderful calm that was normal for me slipping away. I talked to my surgeon and he told me I may not be absorbing the XL as well as I had pre-RNY. My PCP ( who'd prescribed it for me ) put me on SR. That did the trick. I was back to the self I'd come to know. I recently started experiencing that dreaded unmedicated me again, so saw my PCP. We decided on a dosage increase, and it's worked. Yay for medicated, non-screaming Audrey!

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

You have a lot of major changes going on. Some of them will be rougher than others. Talk to your doctor, maybe they can help. But just know, you aren't alone, and things will continue to change for the next year or so. Hang in there.

Post surgery melt downs are normal.... especially when you move into that phase of 'getting back to life'... your body has gone through tremendous changes in a short time.

Be kind to yourself, enjoy your vacation.... and yes, check into the medication...

I am also on welbutrin my neurologist told me before surgery my dosage might have to be changes after 3 month post op blood work. I am two months out find I get real down and emotional at times. I also have to worry about my keppera for seizures already having problems with coumarin can't get a steady INR. I guess it's a normal new post op life
