As a birthday present to myself, I am having a DEXA scan on Monday.  I want to know my body's composition and find my ideal weight range.

Right now, I am in maintenance.  My body seems to like 165-170 pounds.  My original goal is 160 pounds so after the DEXA scan, I will decide if I need to reset it.

I will follow up with the results.

Hi there

I think you are in CA since you were talking about UCLA yesterday.  Could please share where you are getting the scan done.  I had the bod pod test done at cal state long beach and would love to also try the scan.

I had one on my birthday in April!  It was really cool and I got a sense for where I'm at.  I used it to check my goal weight and found that it's right on point at 140.  Excited to see how yours turns out.

Miss Bruindiva, I honest to God have zero idea what a Dexa scan is for. But I really hope you get positive results......or negative results. Whichever is most beneficial anyway.  Have a safe weekend.

Hi Gary,

Its original purpose was to check one's bone density/bone loss.  Now, elite athletes and folks like us can have one to find out about our overall body fat and muscle percentages.  According to others, it can give you an idea about your ideal body weight.

I want to see if I am in the ballpark or need to lose a few pounds.
