The only thing that keeps me from grazing is protein in the form of MEAT!  'Nuff said.

My family keeps telling me I'm going to turn into a chicken!!  It's my go-to meat!!  I eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner often!!

Julie, one of the best posts ever!  Not only do I not understand all these post ops (and I am not referring to newly post op) who think that drinking a liquid that is going to go right through your pouch is going to prove if their pouch still "works".  Of course it works, all the crap food you are eating like chips, bread, rice, crackers and potatoes is going through it so obviously it works.

I wish these people remembered the "gift" of dense protein.  I eat dense protein with each meal and boy and I full!!!  It really works!

I love your idea of a "Five Day Meat Test" we need to start promoting it! LOL LOL

I think Meat Week was extremely successful and really opened up a lot of people's eyes that has forgotten how great dense protein is!

I am thinking maybe in the Fall we do another Meat Week (AMAW), people are very busy in the summer so Fall would be good.

Thanks for the great reminder post, I do love meat, so glad that others do too!

It seems such a foreign concept now to not include dense protein at every meal, doesn't it? I can't imagine not including some sort of dense protein during my meals. Are there RNYers who don't do that?

Pre-surgery ( Before my low carb days. I actually went low carb in 2010. Stuck with it for over a year before I said screw it and went on a cookie binge that would make Cookie Monster blush.  ) I'd make a meal out of pasta or rice only-or even worse-desserts.

This is the start of meat week for my husband and I.  He said he wanted to lose 40lbs I said OK.  Looked up a supermarket I go to when they have great sales and scored whole boneless rib eyes for $4.99 lb.  He is all excited.

You are welcome here anytime.

My husband made a comment this morning that he is still full from dinner last night.  We started yesterday with the all meat.  We have eggs and bacon for breakfast, rib eye for lunch and dinner.  I only eat 3 or 4oz of the steak, he gets 12oz for lunch and breakfast.  I also have him drinking 80oz of water flavored with true lemon.  He doesn't like plain water.  So far so good.
