I was talking to a guy last night that says he hasn't been able to eat reheated chicken since his surgery? Have any of you had that proble? His wife told me they pretty much can't do left overs at all.

My hubby and I eat leftovers all the time, and I've never had a problem.  In fact, we had reheated chicken for dinner tonight.

I also had re-heated chicken. In fact, many of my meals are re-heated. I put a "doggie bag" together with plastic containers of different sizes. When we go out, the leftovers go straight into them. I'm retired now, yet those containers went to work with me the next day. It was in a small town with only a few fast food places. The office had a fridge and microwave. I know some who can't abide left-overs. There are a lot of things that taste better re-heated. You'll figure out what works for you.

If something is too dry, it can be difficult getting it down without problems. But everyone has different levels of tolerance.

The only way I can heat leftovers is slowly on top of the stove.  The microwave makes things too dry for me.  I usually put leftover chicken into a salad and eat it cold.

Try reheating your leftovers on the defrost cycle of your microwave or adjust the heat level downwards if your microwave will let you. The slower heating, just like on your stove, should help. I find it easier to clean microwave containers than pots for the stove.

Thanks, I will try that next time.  I have always used the Reheat setting.

I have had the same problem with reheating in microwave.   I now put meats into a ziplock baggy and reheat from there.  The moisture that comes from the sealed baggy helps keep the meat moist.    From time to time it will be a little dry, but I have usually had it in there too long.

I have thankfully not wasted as much food as I used to.

I just figured out I can't eat reheated ribs. I Ate them fine Fresh off the grill, 3 of them. Reheated I struggled to eat one-- it got too dry. Chiken has t been a problem

Any time I heat in the microwave I Sprinkle water over whatever it is to battle it getting dried out-- works sometimes.
