I am almost two weeks post op. I had my slipped band and port removed and converted to RNY. I am still in so much pain. OMG. It is wearing me down. I actually cried tonight. Up now with pain.

I am not a wimp. Have children and have sailed through another major surgery but this is the most pain I've ever been in. Went to post op appointment and they took out staples and said pain was to be expected.

I have seen where others are experiencing little to no pain. I am so happy for them, however that's not what I am experiencing.

I have horrible lower left back pain (around kidney area). Has anyone else had that. What's it from? Aprreciate any responses! ð??'

When will all this begin to subside?

Did you have band removed and RNY done in one operation??  That is alot at one time.  The few people I knew who did this, waited weeks or months between band removal and the RNY surgery. But I don't know enough about revision to say if one way is better than other.

You have been through a lot, but that much pain two weeks out does not sound good.  Can you make it until Tues when dr office is open again, if you can't, call and use their emergency number or you can go to ER at hosp where you had surgery done.

The pain could be related or unrelated, so you really need to get it checked out.

All I can do is give you my experience . I also heard everyone just having gas and some discomfort when they woke up from surgery, I had my lapband for 6.5 years and on May 3 ( 4 weeks ago ) I went in for my revision to remove my band and do my rny in one procedure. While my dr was in there he found a mass on my intestines and had to dissect it off. It ended up being nothing to worry over but that added some time to anesthesia , which added more co2 gas, then my band tubing was under and behind my liver and that took a little longer to remove. I opened my eyes in horror at the emence pain that I was not expecting. I also am not a wimp. I have had 2 births and a cesarean with my twins and never complained.with my revision  Day 1 was very rough, day 2 was a lot better and day 3 I went home just a tad sore and tired . Day 4 I was off pain medicine and only took 5 nausea pills after that . I do not know but my feeling is that something is just not right with you hurting for 2 weeks. I was on my own with my kids by day 4 and I'm concerned that you have a problem going on. Please insist your dr sees you .

They kept me in Hospital again last night. Said it is pacrentitis and UTI.

Did your insides sting? Mine started this am. I think it is part of the healing.
