2 weeks out and VERY nauseous!
I had the RNY on May 12th, so I am 2 weeks out today. I have been nauseous since I woke up from my procedure. My doctor gave me the nausea patches and the nausea meds, two different kinds, neither are working. I don't want to have to constantly take medications either! I'm in no pain from the surgery itself, just very nauseous.
Did anybody else become nauseous as well for so long? Any suggestions on what helped you? I'm running out of ideas!
Thanks in advance!
Sorry you're having that:( am laying in bed from surgery this afternoon and realized I haven't had a single throw of naseua

Post-op nausea isn't uncommon; my surgeon told me to take OTC Prilosec once daily for about six weeks.
When you have surgery, your new little pouch puts all the food, etc., right up to your esophagus, which is not designed (on purpose) for food contact. Thus, the nausea. Talk to your surgeon, and I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon.
I was nauseous on and off for a month or more. I was taking prescription Omeprezole(Prilosec) but didn't find Zofran helped. Make sure you are getting enough fluids in, it makes a difference. What helped me a lot too were peppermint tic tacs. I would bite it and then just let it melt in my mouth.
