I had my surgery May 16th, 2016. I went home the next day and just completed my first night at home. I barely slept last night. I am not feeling up to eating so I am just sipping on protein shakes and water and sticking with my vitamin schedule to make sure I take all the meds that I need. I ate great in the hospital and my surgeon said I am doing very well so I just thought I would be even better at home but it does not feel that way to me right now.

Others out there, did you experience this as well after you got home?

This is normal, you just went through major surgery Take it one day at a time and let the healing begin.

Thank you Kathy! I was more under the impression that I would come home and get into the retinue of eating, shake, eating, shake, and then eating again. I think for now I am just going to do protein shakes and water with my meds until I get an appetite back. I don't want to push my stomach by trying to eat on top of the protein shakes and water.

Were all a little different and it sounds like your getting off to a bit of a rough start. Just keep getting the prtein and water in and everything

else will start to fall into place.

Keep up the great work and stay positive!   Rich

It does feel like a rough start so far now that I am home. I am trying to get protein shakes in and water so I can at least be getting the protein that I need and water so I don't get dehydrated. I am hoping tomorrow will be better though!

I'm not keeping anything bu****er down right now. I haven't even been able to take any pills because they just sit in my sleeve and I end up throwing them up later. I don't have a fever so I'm just going to continue to drink sips of water and go from there

They called in a medicine that dissolves under the tongue for me so my husband will pick it up later. They want me to just stay on liquids for a few days until I feel differently. The nurse just stated there would be bad days and that's normal.
