Did anyone else need to get a sleep evaluation, not a study?

My surgeon requires a sleep evaluation, and if it is determined that I may have sleep apnea, I'll have to have a sleep study done. 

Has anyone ever had an evaluation? What should be expected during this evaluation? 

My husband just had one done. It took about an hour and half in his case and was really just loads of  about lifestyle, habits, any breathing issues , meds you take etc. From that they determine if you need to go on to a sleep study.

I had to sleep with sort of a pulse ox machine attached to me (at home).  According to that they determined I didn't need to do a sleep study.  Which, I was grateful.
