maintenance

I'm just about 2 years out, and I've been at my goal for a year.  It's been awesome, and fairly easy to maintain, but lately I've inched up a few pounds.  I hope I can keep this weight off!  I think my honeymoon period is over though.  I'm so happy so far with my decision to get vsg.  I went from 220 to 127, and am now hovering around 130-132.

I thought there was a discussion board for maintenance on here, but I can't find it.  Am I missing something?

Good for you! I am almost 2 years out and trying to find what I call my 'happy place' in Maintenance. A five pound range to stay in. I am an everyday weigher as part of my accountability. I know I am not going to be the same number everyday, so therefore a 5lb range.

Forum is called WLS Grads...I think that is the one you are looking for. Go to the forum drop down menu and you will see it. Don't know how active it is.

Might help to just join in the fray of daily activity here. Eating in maintenance VSG or RNY isn't really any different from what I can see, so I read all the boards...General/RNY and VSG.

Me too!  My happy place is 139-142 lbs. I am a bit unhappy with myself as I am 145. That is 6 lbs above my lowest happy and 3 lbs above the highest.

My rule for maintenance is counting calories.  You need roughly 10 calories a day to maintain one pound.  I multiply my goal weight by 10 to get my maintenance calories.  My goal is 136 and I maintain at 1360 calories.  I tried rounding that of to 1400 and quickly gained back to 140.

I weigh daily and adjust if the scale goes up.  This has worked for me for many years.
