Houston we have a problem
I'm a pre-op...
But from everything I've read here, as well as other sites, what your doctor told you is correct.
No drinking 30 min before, during, and after a meal (otherwise, you are just washing all that good protein straight through).
Good proteins first, meats, cheeses - non-starchy veggies second (broccoli, green beans, cauliflower - not carrots, potatoes, etc). At leaset 60g of good solid protein a day.
120 ounces of water. don't drink your calories (that includes alcohol).
Cut out ALL sugars/flours/breads/crackers, etc. after about 10 days you will lose the cravings.
You have a tool, and it sounds like your doctor has checked out your pouch, and it's working as it's supposed to. Now you have to work on your end to make the magic happen.
What I dislike is a pre op person preaching to a PO person.

I wasn't preaching. Sorry if it came across that way.

Take another look at what you wrote. You were "giving" instruction to a PO when you are a pre op. You have no experience in t his arena - yet.
Wow you don't have to be a ***** about it. And she gave the OP good advice whether she is pre-o*****t.

I was not being a "*****" as you say. I was speaking my mind - is there a law against that?

If that is "speaking your mind" then you must be a ***** all the time. Tell me what was wrong with what she posted huh? What that she didn't pat the OP's back and say its "OK the doctor screwed up, yea you do need a revision"?
Sounds to me that OP doesn't need a revision if their stomach is still small, maybe they need to try harder instead of relying on just the surgery to do the work. Some people don't want to own up to lifestyle change that is required after WLS.
There is no need for anyone to say that someone is a ***** or anything else.
People can give their opinions does not mean they are right especially if they haven't gone through it. I do not need anyone to pat my back and say the doctor screwed up or that I am relying on a revision, that is not true. I do NOT want my insurance charged for something that did not take place and to us in the field know that that would be considered insurance fraud. Therefore, I have requested a copy of the surgical notes. The hiatal hernia was so large that it was in my chest and this was the 3rd repair by the same doctor and this time he put a mesh around it, so, I shouldn't have that problem again for at least 10 years.
Who said I was relying on the surgery? Do you walk 3 miles a day? I do and that's with a bad knee and a bone spur in my neck. I have had several surgeries on my knee too as I was in an accident as a kid that messed it up but I am still doing what I need to do while putting off a knee replacement. Unless you know me, please do not speak for me as to that I have or haven't done. To the "newbies" when you are 10 years out with complications remember this post.
We are supposed to be here to help one another and not condemn anyone.
