Need to get my act together
You can do this. You can lose the re-gain.
Many of us have dealt with this, some more than others. Personally I've have two significant episodes. One was 40lbs and the last one was 50. It's definitely possible to lose whatever amount you set your mind to (I weigh less right now than I did even during my "honeymoon" phase. This is after the two re-gains).
If you go up to the search bar and type in "regain" you'll finds loads of information. There are tons of threads.
Good for you for catching yourself now and taking care of it before you ended up back at your pre-op weight. As hard as it is to believe, that does happen to some of us so try to keep things in perspective and don't waste time beating yourself up. You did the absolute right thing by reaching out and asking for help.
Best of luck to you on your journey.
Wow, you're an inspiration. Having gone through it twice and now you are at your lowest. I am going to win this. Thank you for your post, it is a lot of help. I am going to be stopping by this site lots more and keeping in touch to make sure I am accountable. There is a great wealth of information here.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day.

Wow- your story could be my story! I am almost 6 years out and have also gained 30 pounds back within the last two years. I remember thinking shortly after my surgery " I don't understand how anyone can possibly gain the weight back" and here I am- looking at a huge weight gain. I kept thinking "I wont let myself get past __ lbs" and then "well I definitely wont let myself get past ___lbs" and the number kept getting higher and higher. My husband had the surgery 2 years after me and has also gained some back so we are getting back on track together. We are trying the 5 Day Pouch Test now (today is our first day). I have heard some say that it works and some say that it doesn't- but I figure if we are going back to where we started it has to be better than where we are now (and I should be able to do ANYTHING for 5 days right??)
I have a very blessed life. I am married to the love of my life, have two handsome sons, a very loving and supportive family and a job that I love. I am very stubborn and when I set a goal for myself I do not quit until I have reached that goal. But I have failed at managing my weight my entire life! I don't want to fail! I especially don't want to fail at something I have control over. I am determined to not let my entire weight loss surgery experience be in vain. I have never attended a support group- mostly because I am an extreme introvert- but I'm hoping that maybe I can get encouragement and support from (and be a support for others) here. Having other people who are in the same situation as myself makes me feel less like a failure and gives me hope that getting back on track is possible.

Your story if very much like mine. I have felt the same. Gain those few lbs and then a few more. I am happy you are reaching out to find support here. Let me know how the 5 day pouch test goes. I haven't tried that one yet. I work in a high school and Friday is my last day until August and this is going to be a tough couple of months. No routine as usual, so I have to get a program going for myself so I don't find myself sitting and eating all day. I will be on this site more to keep me focused.
Good luck to you and your husband. Thanks for the reply, it is a great help.

Hi Shari!
So today is the fourth day of the 5 Day Pouch Test. Obviously the first two days were the hardest (back to the liquid-only diet). We made protein smoothies for breakfast and lunch and had soup for dinner. Day 3 we were able to add eggs, cottage cheese, turkey, tuna and yogurt so we did eggs for breakfast, turkey and cheese for lunch and eggs and ham for dinner (still had protein smoothies throughout the day to curb munchies). Today we can add ground beef and chicken so it really opens up our options. We don't feel like we are starving:-) I am down 2 pounds and I feel like I can tell a little difference in how much I can eat before I feel full (or not hungry). Certainly the protein smoothies are keeping us full longer. The plan is only for 5 days but I think that it is just meant to get you back in the right mindset. There really isn't anything about it that we shouldn't be able to follow long term once you get to Day 5.
I know how you feel about the summer although it is opposite for me. I am much more sedentary at work than I am at home. When I first had the surgery I was working in a doctors office and was on my feet all day. Then we moved and I changed jobs and now I sit at a desk most of the time. I will admit that I have never been one for exercise. Whatever I get will have to come from my daily activities:-)
Keep me posted on how things go for you! I certainly can use all the support I can get!!
