I do my weekly weigh ins on Monday mornings before work and today was the day I reached ONEDERLAND! I weighed 199 today :) I haven't seen that in 9 years and that was only for a few weeks and that was during chemo lol so I don't feel that really counts.

I started at 377 so I can't believe I'm here! I have 24 pounds to go until my arbitrary goal of 175. When I started I had 202 pounds to go, being in just 2 digits feels so crazy to me still.

Trying to not slack off and keep up the same kind of diet I have the whole time. Haven't cheated once, protein first, VERY little carbs - no bread, no rice, no pasta for me because it works best for me. I carry snacks with me everywhere just in case there isn't something for me to eat when I'm with other people - trying to keep that up through the home stretch!

What an awesome job you are doing! To hear that you don't cheat at all is an inspiration, and a testament to how dedicated you are!

I'd love to hear what kind of snacks you carry around with you. I know that's going to be something I'll need to do, and I'd love some ideas :)

Keep up the great work!!!

The best portable snack for me is beef jerky. I never ate it before surgery at all but I eat it all the time now because it's super portable, I look for the highest protein/lowest calorie combination that I can find in my area and I portion them out into 1 ounce baggies and it's the perfect size for a snack. Usually they're 80-100 calories for 10-12 grams of protein which is pretty ideal at least for what I look for.

I also use Cheese-O's I think they're called that - I found them on Amazon but I know a lot of people just make their own, basically just cheese baked at a certain temperature until it's crunchy. The kind I found on Amazon are different flavors. I like them because they're portable and they appeal to my salty tooth - my snack food was always chips and this satisfies that. A whole packet is 150 calories.

For an actual meal to carry with me I go with a protein pack, my favorite brand is Hillshire because the chicken in them actually is chicken, it doesn't taste processed like the other brands, it's just grilled chicken and has different flavored dipping sauces if you want them.

I don't cheat only because I think if I did I would go into a downward spiral and not be able to get out of it! Like I ate a protein bar for the first time last week and it was pretzel caramel crunch or something and after 2 bites I had to throw it out because it tasted to much like a candy bar and if I had any more I would want an actual candy bar! I can't handle that. I enjoy what I've been eating but if I eat something that tastes too similar to chocolate I'm going to want some damn chocolate.

You are doing exactly what I did.  High protein, very little carbs, and no bread, rice, pasta.  It worked for me and I will be nine years out in October and I am still at my goal weight.  You are an inspiration and example to the people who think they can do this and keep eating smaller amounts of the same things they ate before.

Congratulations.
