Got HERNIA from a Fall 12 years after surgery
I can't type it all out due to pain. I've had 19 operations since age 2. other people would have ballooned up to 500 lbs. I've been into health foods since grade school and I was born in the 60s when other people my age WERE NOT EATING LIKE THAT.....only older hippies were. I gave up red meat 30 yrs. no salt since age 16, etc.
I can't believe how judgmental people are. one guy said it's all my fault and I did this to myself. I will NOT be replying to any 1 person since I can't. I'm in tears since I've just been bullied on this site and if I wanted this I would have gone to craigslist.
after the car accident FOR THE FIRST TIME I STOPPED WALKING ON A DAILY BASIS. you have NO idea what I went through. after 2 hrs I could not talk and it felt like my jaw was broken due to neck damage. my discs in back are OBLITERATED. my calf was ripped somehow and every time I walked I felt my Achilles or something in there ready to rip. ins would not cover an MRI of calf. I already got put through so much radiation from other MRIs that I'm now facing cancer again.
I don't owe anyone such an explanation. ALL I asked for was some HELP. I hoped that other people "like me" would have understood and "got it". if anyone can help look up the info asked for, great. if not, please don't make fun of me or bully me.
I have had hundreds of days where my limbs are burning and numb and I just want to cut them off.
when I was young I had fat genes in me. I ran around outside for hours every day and was still fat. then I lost the weight and kept every ounce off until my foot's bone broke. I had to walk on a broken foot for 3 yrs w/o ins. then I fell on the ice and my back was shot forever.
if you have anything bad to say, please take your attitude to church and pray to God for help to NOT judge other suffering beings. btw, I was walking outside for 2 reasons when I fell in the pothole. 1. I needed to walk around the block for my own health. I can't walk as much as I did before the car accident, but I try to at least do this. 2. I was checking on some stray kittens a block away to see if the cat rescue groups I CALLED IN rescued them yet.
I walked on Saturday and my gut feels like it's going to rip open. my hernia is in the stomach/pouch. I have no car and can't drive and have no way to get back to the dr but they read the results over the phone. even the surgeon said he would not perform surgery in the situation I'm in now. it's too dangerous here in this community.
I've also had another appt with another BARIATRIC surgeon coming up in less than 2 weeks. I'm super smart but am so disabled from killer chronic pain all over my body. I was born with or had many, many accidents and my whole body is broken.
if anyone finds the DIRECT CORRELATION BETWEEN A HARD FALL ON CEMENT CREATING A HERNIA IN THE STOMACH/POUCH please let me know. otherwise I don't need and won't listen to more ridicule. I did find other info but am too terrified to read the technical stuff of "what could be" and I also don't understand most of it. 20 yrs ago I fell on the ice where this community had no lights or salt down. loads of people fall in this hell hole. I did LOADS OF RESEARCH for the lawyers. I just don't have the body to do this anymore and reached out for a friend or kind hearted person to HELP ME, please.
You are not being bullied. People are saying "I don't think there's a connection between these two things" is in no way CLOSE to bullying.
People here are very helpful when approached with a positive attitude and a "hey, where do I get this info?" You are asking someone to do some intense homework for you, and throwing a "woe is me" fit when you don't get what you want. That's not going to get you help, either.
Talk to a lawyer or another medical professional.

I doubt you will be able to prove that your fall caused your hernia and here is why.
A Hernia is a condition in which part of an organ is displaced and protrudes through the wall of the cavity containing it (often involving the intestine at a weak point in the abdominal wall). A hernia can result from heavy lifting or any strain on the area in which there is already a weakened facia in the abdominal wall. The key is that you already had the weakened area, the fall did not cause it. If your RNY was open, you are more prone to hernias (I have a very large one myself). Multiple surgeries can also lead to hernias (if you have had 19 surgeries of the abdomen) IMO, any attorney you present this to, knowing you have had so many surgeries may be less inclined to take the case.

Has anyone ever watched "Penny" on "My 600 lb life"? I am sorry if you think I am being critical, but you remind me of Penny. Watch the episode. Always saying woe is me and making excuses for herself. I'm sorry but I don't believe for one instant that you are in such a situation that you cannot sit at a computer and type things into a search engine, when you can CLEARLY type out paragraph after paragraph of reasons/excuses why you cannot do this thing! Besides, what is anyone else going to find that you haven't already? If you have even done it. Asking people for help and asking them to do intense research on something that could directly help you sue or prove YOUR case is completely different.
Also, there is no doctor or surgeon that will tell you he cant do surgery because it is too dangerous where you live. Maybe in your present state you can't have surgery but it is not too dangerous in your community if you stay indoors and stay active inside your home. Stop trying to blame your surgeon and your doctors and plus your landlords for your situation. They are to blame for the community but did they force you to check on the kittens? Or walk on the pothole? Please take some responsibility. Hernias are not caused by WLS.
